‘To be the church,’ is more than a catch phrase. In early 2011 members at LifePoint Church (located in the Portland, OR Metro area) began exploring what it would be like to shift from identification with the church to identification as the church. We believe Jesus calls those who follow Him to learn, live, and lead others to the gospel–the good news of who He is and what He has done. As we began this journey, we started writing down and recording our thoughts and experiences. Sometimes we put them to music. Other times we wrote them down in short articles on a variety of subjects. Recently, we’ve begun to wrestle with what it means to be the church, while recording our musings and releasing them in audio podcasts. Many times these thoughts are in the form of Bible sermons, preached as we gather week to week to glorify God and encourage each other. We believe the Bible is God’s revelation within which He tells us the story of our need of redemption and the way in which He plans to carry it out.
